Our Story
Working Towards Financial Stability
The Sewing Project for the Development of Lanzac (SPDL) is a by product of the women's empowerment group started by Project House of Hope. A group of 8 women expressed an interest in learning to sew as a means of earning income. The women wanted to send their children to school, wanted to afford a decent safe place to live and some women wanted to go to school themselves. The project was started with donated sewing machines from The Sewing Machine Project, donated fabric and supplies and a donated generator. Within a few short years the group has become self sufficient, added 2 new members for a total of 10 and have several projects in the works.
